Monte San Savino 2013
Par où commencer ??!! Pas facile...
Ce week-end était absolument génial, tout simplement !
Ces 8, 9 et 10 novembre avait donc lieu en Italie, le concours de Monte San Savino (MSS pour les connaisseurs).
JEUDI :
Christian et moi même sommes partis de Nantes en avion, direction le Sud et Marseille, pour retrouver Stéphane Camosseto avec qui nous allions faire la route le lendemain matin.
Un grand merci à sa moitié pour le prêt de la voiture qui s'est mangée encore une fois, après le GD de Modène, 1500 km 
.
VENDREDI :
Nous sommes donc partis à 7h00 vendredi matin pour arriver vers 17h30 à MSS.
Nous avons fait une petite boucle par Pise pour aller récupérer Steve Party qui venait d'Angleterre.
La route s'est globalement très bien passée, hormis le fait que l'on ait mis 3 heures pour faire Marseille/Nice dut au fait que chacun d'entre nous n'avions pas les mêmes besoins biologiques au même moment... 
Petite parenthèse pour ceux qui ont suivi l'actualité. La semaine dernière, un lama s'est fait trimballé dans le tramway bordelais par des étudiants un peu éméchés... Ce fait d'armes à fait l'objet d'une parodie de la chanson "Papaoutai" de Stromae que Christian et moi avons eut le malheur de montrer à Stéphane....Erreur fatale ! Du coup, 10 heures de "Lamaoutai" ont bien marqué ce week et fait l'objet de bons fous rires! 
Et ce, même jusqu'au retour, lundi vers 3h00 du matin !! 
Nous sommes donc arrivés vers 17h30 à notre hôtel.
Tout juste le temps de décharger la voiture, d'installer un coin peinture dans la chambre pour la fin de soirée (histoire de faire des finitions), que nous sommes allés directement repérer le salon et rencontrer ceux qui étaient déjà présents.
Ah non, j'allais oublié une chose très importante: Stéphane a voulu absolument récupérer le code wifi pour montrer la vidéo de Serge le Lama à Steve qui ne la connaissait pas...
Le cadre pour un concours de figurines est vraiment en tous points, exceptionnel!
Un grand nombre de displays étaient déjà posés et la qualité était vraiment impressionnante!
Nous sommes allés manger tout les quatre dans une bonne pizzeria locale (Italie oblige…) où nous avons été bluffés par le rapport prix/taille de la pizza… Un régal!
Je passerai sous silence que le fait d'échanger des parts de pizza entre nous, a transformé la table en orgie... Bref...
Nous avions ensuite rendez-vous à 22h00 pour un pot avec tous les participants.
Enfin un pot, c’est vite dit.... plutôt un bon bidon d'hydromel qui était proposé à bon nombre d'entre nous en parallèle de bouteilles de rouge ou de liqueur locale qui circulaient pour qui voulait… Un « Open Bar » entre figurinistes, en quelque sorte.
On retrouve des têtes déjà vues sur certains salons et faisons connaissance avec d'autres.
Assurément, on commence à sentir que ce week-end va tenir ses promesses
Vers 23h00 (et après 10 heures de route) on décide de rentrer à l'hôtel pour peindre jusqu'à 1h00, fignoler ce qui peut encore l’être sur nos displays.
Table de chevet en guise de chaise, bureau de chambre transformé en atelier…
Bref, la routine en fait, comme chaque veille de concours !
SAMEDI :
Lever le lendemain vers 8h00, petit déjeuner italien (bien meilleur ceci dit qu'a Modène!!) et en route vers 9h00 pour déposer nos displays. Ca grouille déjà de tous les côtés et on prend plaisir à retrouver d'autres français arrivés dans la matinée.
Entre les figurines "références" type « CristalBrush », « Slayers swords » et des dernières productions de peintres européens, le niveau au mètre carré est absolument génial à admirer! 
Nous avions rendez-vous vers 13h00 pour déjeuner tous ensembles dans un restaurant proche de l'expo. Là encore, l'ambiance était au rendez-vous. Les italiens savent montrer à quel moment ils boivent du rouge, c'était vraiment sympa!
Fin du repas vers 16h00... On retourne profiter un peu de l'expo et se balader dans les rues de Monte. Entre temps, on retrouve Antoine Roffé de Skullsmini avec qui nous étions allés au Games Day trois semaines auparavant, avant de retourner au resto pour 20h00. On en sortira vers 1h30....
Après un bon repas et moultes discussions, nous ne sommes plus qu'une poignée dans le restaurant après quoi on décide d'entamer une partie de jeu de cartes dit du "paquet de merde".... Puis d'enchainer sur une bonne bière dans un bar où quelques italiens trinquaient déjà depuis un moment. Cette première journée était tellement bien remplie que l'on avait l'impression d'être présents depuis 3 jours...
Nous sommes partis mettre la viande dans le torchon vers 2h30, alors que Stéphane chantait encore l'hymne à la gloire de Serge le Lama .
Le lendemain matin nous sommes allés nous reposer, boire un petit café qui s'est finalement terminé en déjeuner dans une bonne brasserie locale. Malgré le temps qui s'est dégradé dans le courant de l'après midi, l'ambiance était fantastique au sein du salon et ça papotait encore et toujours!
La remise des prix avait lieu dans un magnifique amphi-théâtre à 100m du salon, ce qui rajoutait encore plus d'ambiance à ce salon!
Il y avait un grand nombre de prix spéciaux en plus des prix Or/Argent/Bronze dans chaque catégorie. Je pense qu'en tant que juge il devait y avoir vraiment de quoi s'arracher les cheveux.... Et je pense que ce fut le cas

Pyer Houdusse : Bronze en litte paint et big paint standard
Steve : Best of Figure
Jean-François (JEF): Argent en little paint standard, Or en big paint standard et Best of Standard (grosso modo, le "best of show des confirmés"), oui pas le choix maintenant, je passe définitivement en masters et ça, sa motive énormément!!
Je pense que les mots ne suffiront pas d'une part pour dire à quel point l'organisation de ce salon était excellente et d'autre part à quel point cette communauté de peintres est géniale!
Félicitations donc à tous les participants! Un merci tout particulier à Francesco Farabi pour l'accueil!
L'année prochaine aura lieu les 11-12 et 13 juillet, la World Expo à Stresa, toujours en Italie. Donc pas de Monte San Savino en 2014, mais nous avons dores et déjà pris rendez-vous pour l'édition 2015!

How to start ? ! Not easy ...
This weekend was absolutely awesome , just!
These 8, 9 and 10 November until 1:00 am the competition of Monte San Savino (MSS for connoisseurs).
THURSDAY:
Christian and myself went by plane from Nantes to Marseille to get Stephane Camosseto.
A big thank you to his girl friend to loan her car again, after the Golden Demon in Modena, from 1500 km more.
FRIDAY:
We started at 7:00 am, friday morning to arrive around 5:30 pm in MSS.
We made a small loop in Pisa to get Steve Party who came from England.
The road is generally very good, except that it took three hours from Marseille to Nice as each of us did not have the same biological needs at the same time...
Digression for those who follow the news. Last week, Bordeaux students , a little tipsy , got a lama in a tramway ... This feat of arms was the subject of a parody of the Stromae song "Papaoutai" (dadwhereareyu), that Christian and I had the misfortune to show to Stéphane.... Fatal Error !
So, 10 hours of "Lamaoutai" (lamawhereareyu), scored well this week-end and been good laughs !
The same on the return on Monday around 3:00 am !
We arrived at our hotel around 5:30 pm.
Just enough time to unload the car, install a paint corner in the room for late night work ( just for finish-ups ), we went directly to identify the area and meet with those who were already present .
Oh no, I almost forgot one very important thing : Stéphane absolutely wanted to get the wifi code to show video from Serge the llama to Steve who did not know ...
The framework for competition figurines was really exceptional in all viewpoints !
Overall there were three rooms dedicated. First with the historical masters and fantasy, a second with confirmed / beginners / juniors and a third floor with judge windows and demonstration space.
Many displays were already in place and the quality was really impressive !
We ate all four in a good local pizzeria (Italy requires) where we were amazed by the price / size ratio of the pizza ... a treat!
I will not mention the fact that the exchange of shares of pizza between us has turned the table into an orgy ... Anyway ...
We then had an appointment at 10:00 pm for a drink with all participants.
Finally a drink, it's easy to say... rather a good bottle of Hydromel that was proposed to many of us in parallel bottles of red wine or local liquor circulating to whom wanted it... An " Open Bar " between modelers somehow .
We find the heads already seen on some shows and get acquainted with others.Surely, one begins to feel that this weekend will keep its promises.
At 11:00 pm (and after 10 hours) we decided to return to the hotel to paint and polish what may still require it until 1:00 am.
Night table as a chair, office room transformed into a studio...
In short, the routine in fact, as for each day of competition ! !
SATURDAY:
Up the next day around 8:00 am, Italian breakfast ( much better this Modena said to have !) And road around 9:00 am to drop off our displays. It already crawling on all sides and is fun to meet other French arrived in the morning.
Between the figures like " CristalBrush ", " Slayers swords " and recent productions of European painters, level per square meter is absolutely awesome to watch !
We had an appointment at 1:00 pm for lunch all together in a restaurant close to the expo. Again, the good atmosphere was there. The Italians know how to show when they drink red , it was really nice!
End of the meal around 4:00 pm...
We return to enjoy some of the show and walking the streets of Monte . Meanwhile, there is Antoine Roffé of Skulsmini with whom we went to Games Day three weeks earlier, before returning to the restaurant for 8:00 pm. It will come out around 1:30 am...
After a good meal and endless discussions, we are only a handful in the restaurant when which we decided to start a few games of cards -called " pack of crap "...
Then quickly on to a beer in a bar where some Italian already had drinked for a while.
The first day was so busy that it seemedwe were there for three days...
We go sleeping at 2:30 am, while Stéphane still singing the hymn to the glory of Serge the lama .
SUNDAY:
The next morning we went to rest, had a cup of coffee which eventually finished with lunch at a good local brewery. Despite the time that has deteriorated in the course of the afternoon, the atmosphere was great in the living room and chatted time and time again !
The award ceremony took place in a beautiful amphitheater 100m from the living room, which added that even more atmosphere to the show !
There were a large number of special awards in addition to price Gold / Silver / Bronze in each category. I think the judgment was to be a real pain in head tor the jury.

Jean-François (JEF): Money little paint standard Gold standard in big paint and Best of Standard (roughly , the " best of show confirmed " ), so no choice now , I definitely become a master and that is enormously motivating !
I think the words are not enough of a hand to say how the organization of the show was excellent and secondly how this community of artists is great!
So congratulations to all the participants! A special thank you to Francesco Farabi for the reception !
The next year will be held on 11-12-13 July , the World Expo in Stresa, Italy.
There will not be a Monte San Savino show in 2014, but we already made an appointment for the 2015 edition !
